Supergirl started its production today!!!

The pilot for CBS’s upcoming show, “Supergirl” officially started its production today!

Executive producers, Andrew Kreiskerg and Ali Alder posted some very explicit pictures announcing the beginning of the production today. The pilot episode is directed by Glen Winter (Arrow and The Flash). Supergirl will take place in the same universe as Arrow and the Flash. Even though they are not going to be in the same network, we are all hoping for future collaborations with these shows.

Glee’s actress Melissa Benoist will be playing the main character Kara Zor-El A.K.A Supergirl. She’s joined by Mehcad Brooks playing Jimmy Olsen. Laura Benanti will be playing Alura Zor-El Kara’s mother, while Ally Mcbeal star Calista Flockhart will be Cat Grant, Kara’s boss. Joining them, Chyler Leigh from grey’s anatomy will portray Alex Danvers, Kara’s foster sister. As the villains, Jeremy Jordan will appear as Winslow Schott and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw. Dean Cain and Helen Slater will also be part of the production, although we still don’t know what characters they would be playing.

Supergirl will debut on CBS in fall 2015.
